JBL 2213-H versus 123A-1

I know they are different but price-wise are they the same on Ebay?  Are they compatible or completely different?  The reason I asked because I sold a pair of 4312's to a local person and didn't know the woofers are mismatched.  I already refunded him $30 due to color mismatched but now he  (and I) found out about the real difference.  I offered to take them back as I am tire of all the emails back and forth and he is still not happy with the $30 refund.  I guess he wants more but if they basically cost the same then the previous $30 refund should be reasonable.

He's just yanking your crank. There is not enough of a difference to warrant an exccessive refund, if any.
While there may be a slight measured difference, all of those old 123A type woofers are basically the same.
We've discussed the difference between AlNiCo and Ferrite models too.
An AlNiCo will lose some of it's magnetic strength with large current input(s), but I wouldn't stress it in this case.
Tell him to SOGOTP ( the last quot;GOTPquot; stands for quot;get off the potquot; ),  you have my 2 cents.

123A-1 is alnico, 2213H is ferrite.  There are other minor differences, which I forget.  123A-3 would nominally be a better match.  Also, the polarity is opposite, so you have to swap the connections.

I prefer 2213H because I use that driver family closed-box, which carries a greater risk of overdriving the alnicos.

Your $30 is more than I would have offered....

double post?????? dunno why.....

You guys are great.  Thanks so much.  He dropped the complaints after I gave him another option which I will take the woofer back and give him the 2213H or he can search Ebay and let me know the difference in price.  I guess the diference is nil.  Thanks.................................
