'Stats, Planners and ionizer's??

I'm waiting to hear back from Jeff at Martin Logan. I've been leaving the windows open in the mornings and evenings. Dust levels went up alot, I vaccum them every month per Jeff's instructions. I was thinking about getting am ionizer next to each speaker but, don't know if there will be any interaction. I'll get some anyway, because of the other benefits just wondering if they should not fire right at the speakers or even be near to them? Any advise helpful and, I'll report what Jeff says of course!

I had a Sharper Image Ionic Breeze sitting behind one of my electrostatics for years without any adverse effect.  I know this isn't an ionizer, but there are some similar principles involved.  Hope this helps.

I was wondering this same thing yesterday... I listened to a pair of the small Martin Logans at Best Buy, and was really amazed. Miles Davis was in the room with his trumpet.

My neighbor smokes. Some particles get into my place, despite having filters and an Ionic Breeze.

How hard is it to keep them clean if there is some smoke in the air?

Much harder, you know how when you buy a amp or receiver from a smoker, not the stuff inside that heats up and smells, the face plate stuff. M L's when being used are charged and dust, smoke, is drawn to the membranes, a little smoke wafting into your place from the smoker next door shouldn't hurt much but, the residue makes the dust stick to it better(not a good better) Even if you stand in front of them 'n they will still sound good but, Not a Good idea. The panels slowly lose their properties (?) as they age and smoke and dust will accellerate that process. You must unplug them for 12 hours before vaccuming the panels once a month. When no signal is present the voltage is almost non existant on mine and most of the curvalinier ones. I'm not sure about the HT stuff at best buy though
I talked to Jeff(M-L has some of the best customer service IMO) just before you posted, and he is very interested to hear responces to my question from others here, he said it's not going to hurt them or affect the sound but, may keep dust levels down. I promised I'd report back next month so he can pass it on to others that ask about it.
I'm gonna get a pair of ionizers anyway because of allergys. Different sound than the infinity's huh? Neither better or worse IMO just different
