Anyone familiar with the Heathkit AA-111?
Anyone familiar with this particular model?
I picked up one in pretty good shape today. Other than a couple of scratchy pots, it sounds and works great.
It's been used intermittently over the last 5 years or so, so I'm curious if anyone knows how to set the bias on this amp.
Thanks,
Mike
Well, I found out it's self biasing.
Here's a pic:heres some more information on it .heathkit changed model #'s with alot of their amps but kept the same circuits and the aa 111 is no different than the aa30 for which it replaced.hifi/hvmaa-111.shtml
here is another ak members aa 30 rebuild with schematic if you need it forums/sho...light=heathkit
Thank you very much!
Nice amp, congrats! It kinda made me look twice, as I have a Heathkit AA-11 preamp, but it's a whole nother animal, not even close to matching. EDIT: I take that back, it IS the matching amp. I shoulda looked at radioactive's link BEFORE posting. It doesn't LOOK like they match, at first.
Replaced the coupling caps and installed gold RCA jacks, it now sounds fantastic. It actually images better than any other amp I own.
Mullard Reissues should be here in the next day or two.
