Remember the quot;Cordless Phonographquot;?
How's this for a blast from the 60's?AM/FM, 33 1/3 and 45, battery or 9V DC wall wart power.
They seemed like naturals for listening to records by the pool...until that inevitable gust of wind came and the record went flying across the backyard. Convinient for bringing to the cottage I guess.
One is an RCA the other a Sanyo. No clue if they still work. Anyone into collecting these or are they recycling?
No, I don't collect them, but they look kinda neat...
You have to keep in mind that options for having your favorite music around were a lot more limited back in the day,
You could take one of those little players and a quot;handfulquot; of 45's and you and your friends could have a good time wherever you went, kind of like an iPod today!
You should check them out and see if they still work!
I was given one for Christmas '67. Mine was a cheerful red and white Magnavox (made by Sanyo) and very similar to the Sanyo shown above. I definately made use of it for several years, especially it's built in radio. But kept my old tube '63 Golden Shield unit going for in-house use until my brother and I put together our first decent system.
