Need Help Identifying ASAP !!!

Supposed to be a Harman/Kardon EQ and amp

I don't know Harmon/Kardon but that is a preamp not an EQ. I'd be jumping on that for the amp alone.

Never mind, the guy sold them to me sight unseen, and then turned around told me he sold them to someone else.

CL is full jerks these days, worse than eBay.

The amp is a Citation 12 and the other one is a preamp with an EQ, which would make you both right. Citation 11 IIRC.

Good reputations, sorry you missed out. Plenty 'o jerks to go around these days it seems.

You're right.  It's the Citation 11. (or eleven to be more specific).

Yeah, its a Citation eleven pre-amp.I had one here for about a month, and I really enjoyed the sound of it.I really liked the phono preamp in it,as well. Its a shame you missed out on that one.          Jimmy

Still looking for that one true score.

I was even considering a set of KLH 17's to compliment the amp....

I feel your pain.  the Citation 12 was a fairly stout power amp for its day and pretty reliable although not too sure of how good it ultimately sounded.  The Citation 11 was supposed to be pretty good though.

I had the same situation with a CL seller local to me.  Had a line on a Yamaha p2201 power amp, about 225 watts/channel, had him down to $125 but couldn't pick up right away because I felt I had to go to the post office first to mail a package to someone and then work.  Told him I'd be by at 8pm after a work meeting.  Well, he called me at 7:30pm to say he sold it to someone else (turns out close by and for more money) so good Karma for him I suppose.

I shoulda picked up the amp, gone to work, and then mailed the package the next day...

Oh, well, there will be others...

Hell, I didn't even try to talk him down.

I just thought having something old would be cool.

Well, you certainly are more forgiving(?) than me.

If I have agreed on a price and a meeting/pickup time with someone I fully expect them to abide by that agreement. Likewise the other way - if I've made a quot;dealquot; with someone then it's a deal.

Now if they don't show and weren't considerate enough to let me know in advance, then maybe all bets are off.

Yes, I hear where you are coming from.  However, I suppose I didn't really have a solid agreement since the seller controls the ground rules and First Come, First Served is what many CL'ers sort of adhere too, especially if they're going to get their price or more.

I figure the Karma wheel will spin my way if I don't get all worked up about it anyway.  I've certainly had my share of scores and a few misses.  I've been thinking about a thread to discuss misses that we've all come across but were not able to get or were sold out from under us.  Think that thread would get some stories???

Regards,

Bart

I gave up on CL about a year ago.  I've been burned both as a buyer and seller.  It kind of sours you on humanity.  This forum helps restore my faith that there are some good people out there.  Garage sales and thrifting still seem to be a good source in central Ohio.

If it's advertised and presented/discussed as first come, first served, then fine, that is what it is.

I just don't like the quot;sold, it's yours, you can pick it up anytime after 7pmquot; type of deal, then show up and it's gone. That's pretty shitty modus operandi in my book.
